Appointment Book
Manage your appointment book anytime, anywhere, from any computer with an Internet connection. Easily create, edit, copy or reschedule appointments.

The appointment blocks display the provider (colour coded), patient's name, appointment type and current status of the appointment. Hover the mouse over the appointment to bring a pop-up window showing extended information such as appointment notes, patient's details and alerts. Click on the appointment to open the window with extended information and further links to other relevant data. Each stage is more detailed than previous, providing you with the flexibility to retrieve critical information at once and detailed information if necessary.

The appointment book also has a section to place appointments on hold. You can drag and resize appointment blocks.

Patient File
Store all your patient information in one secure location. The patient file is a collection of links to the information related to a particular patient.

View the most critical information at a glance: personal info, general and medical alerts, the list of the patient's past and future appointments as well as the financial balances and deposits. Use the buttons at the bottom of the panel to access various sections relating to the patient's file, such as detailed personal information, recalls, imaging, clinical notes, restorative charting, etc.

Create quotes to provide your patients with different treatment options. Quickly approve quotes and place procedures into the treatment plan.

Using our seamless integration with HICAPS, you can submit estimates to a health fund to see the health fund rebate amount and patients out-of-pocket costs on the spot.

You can save time by duplicating quotes to create variations of estimates. Estimates will expire after a given period of time (e.g. 3 months).

Treatment Plan
Effectively manage treatment plans for your patients. You can use the ADA coded procedures, Medicare procedures or create your own.

The treatment plan contains approved procedures. They can be grouped into visits which can be easily allocated to particular appointments. Visits are colour coded and can be rearranged by using the drag-and-drop feature.

You can view suggested treatment procedures which have not been formally approved at the bottom of the screen. You can quickly approve these procedures by simply dragging them into the treatment plan.

You can access the treatment plan from the appointment window or from the patient file. You can add items to the treatment plan from appointments, quotes, restorative charting or directly from the current treatment plan.

Periodontal Charting
Periodontal Charting provides both graphical and numerical descriptions of oral conditions, missing or malposed teeth, clinical attachment levels, furcation (root) involvement, mobility, pocket depths, bleeding sites, plaque, etc.

You can enter data using several alternative workflows, e.g. All, PD, PDR, PDFM and PBS. To save time and improve efficiency, you can choose between several alternative data input sequences when switching from one tooth to another.

You can create several exams and compare the observation results by switching between them.

Restorative Charting
Restorative Charting includes tools for mapping oral cavities, pre-existing conditions (cracks, chips, crowns, fillings, etc.) and treatments. You can record suggested, approved and completed treatments, clinical notes and conditions.

A close-up view of the selected tooth, extra labels and grid tips make it easy to view and work with particular parts of a tooth. Charted treatment is automatically added to the treatment plan and vice versa - a treatment added in the appointments, quotes and treatment plans is automatically charted.

Praktika uses a tax invoice based accounting system. Tax invoices are represented by the completed appointments where the patient, billed treatment (procedures), provider and the payments are linked together.

Praktika allows claiming of Health Funds or Medicare benefits and lodging EFTPOS payments directly from the completed appointments via HICAPS or TYRO terminals.

System provides a facility for the combined claims and payments for the patients linked together into families.

Praktika also allows taking patients' deposits which can be used towards the future treatment.

Praktika supports automated uploading of the remittance statements from such Payment Plan Providers as Dental Members Australia (DMA) and Denticare. The system allocates the payments from the uploaded remittance statements to the same patient files as the deposits.

Praktika has a few groups of reports: - Financial Reports such as Cash Receipts, Activity Details, Accounts Receivable, Deposits and General Ledger; - Marketing & Statistics such as New Patients, SMS & Electronic Comms, etc; - Advanced Reports (KPIs) such as rovider Performance, Fee Comparison, Treatment Analysis, Revenue, etc.

Most of the Reports can supply you data for an arbitrary period of time, present it for all the business as a whole or single out a particular provider.

Praktika customers can request a customised report tailored for the needs.

Praktika supports manual upload of the images as well as the image acquisition from the TWAIN compatible scanners.

There is a set of tools that allows you to edit images: brightness, contrast, rotation and size. You can place several images side to side for comparison. You can also use a ruler tool to measure the object's length.

Fee Management
Enter charges quickly using multiple Fee Schedules for different fee sets.

Easily copy, edit and rename Fee Schedules. Praktika automatically updates the standard Government Fee Schedules such as Medicare or DVA.

You can share Fee Schedules between multiple locations. You can create your own custom Fee Schedules for custom entries such as stock items, etc.

SMS Messaging
Praktika provides a 2-Way SMS messaging. It means that you can send SMS to mobile phones and also receive and process the received responses.

The SMS appointment reminders can be sent either manually or automatically at the predefined times. Praktika shows the SMS icons on the corresponding appointments and automatically updates the SMS status: scheduled, sent, delivered and response received.

Dental Recall is the process of rescheduling missed appointments or calling to confirm patient appointments to increase revenue. The main purpose for a dental recall system is to ensure the quality oral health of the dental patients. The increased production maximizes the efficiency and profitability of the practice.

In Praktika all new patients are prompted to set a recall date on the completion of the first appointment. The date can be set as a standard period or a custom one.

Once the set recall date is reached, the patient is automatically added to the Recall List, where a particular action can be taken: a reminder sent by mail, by email or SMS, followed by a telephone call, etc. The patient is then transferred into the Recall In Progress list and will be automatically removed from the list once a new appointment with the patient is completed.

Integration with HICAPS
Praktika is fully integrated with HICAPS terminals. You can make claims and send quotations to health funds to instantly get to know the benefits and make payments.

You can connect a HICAPS terminal to one computer in your local network and share the terminal with all other computers. The computer connected to the terminal must be a Windows machine, but all other computers on the network can use any operating system.

Praktika runs a set of HICAPS specific reports that sum up the transactions done with the help of HICAPS terminal.

Integration with TYRO

Praktika is fully integrated with Tyro terminals.

Main features:

  • Health Fund Claims, EFTPOS, Credit Card and Medicare Easyclaim processing facility.
  • Reduction of human errors while recording transactions through automation.
  • Simplified connection. No need for a dedicated telephone line.

Tyro terminals use a cloud technology and work both on Windows and Mac platforms.

Online Booking
Praktika's Online Booking system can work on its own or in cooperation with other 3rd Party online booking systems (Health Engine, MyHealthFirst, WhiteCoat, etc.).

Praktika’s own Online Booking is free of charge for Praktika subscribers. You will only be charged a standard fee for the verification SMS that is sent to patients during the booking process.

You can simply mark the areas in your appointment book to publish the slots available for online booking.

Alternatively, you can define online booking rules based on the provider, time range and type of treatment.

Record and manage incoming and outgoing referrals. Create and maintain the list of referring providers and clinics.

You can create an external clinic record and associate external providers with this clinic. You can do it on the go while creating an external provider record.

The external clinics and providers can be used to create outgoing referrals or register incoming referrals.

Electronic Forms & Consents
With Praktika, you can save time and effort in filling in and maintaining Patients Forms and records. Praktika's Patients Forms are fully customisable and secure. They can be given to patients to complete on iPad or emailed to them prior to their visit.

For email forms, we use a 2-step verification method to ensure that patients personal and medical data is not exposed to unauthorised access. Patients receive a unique PIN code on their mobile to verify the link.

Both iPad and email forms are live, and the data entered is automatically updated on all computers (devices) in the practice via Praktika's private cloud. Praktika keeps the status of the emailed forms so that you can know when the form was sent, received/viewed by the patients and submitted or rejected.

In Praktika, patients can also sign the consent forms.
